Adam Bond Officially Kicks Off His Campaign with Meet & Greet on June 8, 2012Adam Bond invites the voters of the 12th Bristol district to attend an open “Meet & Greet” campaign kick-off at the VFW in Middleboro. This free event will be held from 7:00 to 9:00PM on Friday, June 8, 2012. The VFW is located at 12 Station Street in Middleboro. There will be light refreshments and a cash bar available. This is the first of several Meet & Greet events Bond has planned for the district. “I believe that Representatives need to be constantly accessible to the voters in a very public way. I welcome questions and suggestions; I encourage public discourse about my positions and ideas. For me, the people’s interests are more important than party lines,” Bond said. Bond, a local attorney, with his practice in downtown Middleboro, served on the Middleboro Board of Selectmen for more than five years. He has been a vocal advocate for lower taxes, civil right’s, and responsible government management. While a selectman, he consistently voted against property tax increases and the trash fee. More recently, he drafted H3282 for submission by Rep. Thomas Calter, and testified before the Legislature about that bill. The Bill seeks to ensure the MA homeowner a day in court before foreclosure proceedings – a right provided in almost every other New England state. Adam successfully fought to establish that school bus drivers are recognized as mandated reporters of child abuse and neglect, testifying before the Legislature for changes in the Mandated Reporter Statute (51A). He continues to fight for all Veterans’ Rights, and currently the Blue Water Navy Veterans under the Agent Orange Equity Act. Most recently, he was asked to join the Casino Advisory Committee of Lakeville and has worked with East Taunton residents, offering his legal expertise to understand the Taunton IGA. “I have been working for the people of this district for many years, not as their Representative, but as their neighbor, or sometimes as their attorney, and many times as their friend. I am ready to go the State House and advocate for this district in an official capacity,” Bond said. He will be hosting open Meet & Greet events in Lakeville, Berkley, East Taunton and Middleboro, the towns that make up the newly redistricted 12th Bristol. I am Adam Bond and I am running for State Representative for 12th Bristol District. I have been an attorney for 22+ years, admitted in MA, NY and MI. I live and practice law in downtown Middleboro. I have spent my career protecting individual rights by challenging Banks, Brokerage Firms and Government agencies, even appearing before the U.S. Supreme Court. I proudly served on the Middleboro Board of Selectmen from 2004 -2009. I tendered my resignation when the people's interests were no longer being protected by that board.
I feel that today's politics have been taken over by extreme political agendas. While I am a registered Democrat, I am an independent thinker, where the people are my priority. I believe that a State Representative must put citizen's interests before Party Interests. People before Party. I hope that you find the information on this site helpful in choosing your next State Representative. If there are any questions that are unanswered here, you may contact me at adam@votebond.com. I want to hear your issues and answer any questions you may have about my candidacy. Thank you for taking the time to visit this site. Whatever choice you make for the future of your State Government, please be sure to make a choice -- vote on Sept. 6, 2012 in the Democratic Primary. You may vote if you are a registered Democrat or Unenrolled. Adam M. Bond |
